Primary Care and Urgent Care
Primary Care
Your primary care physician will work with you to attain and maintain your optimal health. Many preventive care services, such as screenings, are available through your health plan annually at no charge. See your plan explanation of benefits to determine which services are available or speak to your primary care physician. Your primary care physician will serve as a guide, linking you with specialists and services, when required. Choose from over 75 family doctors with a history of practice in the Central Valley.
24 Hour Nurse Care
Health plans offer 24 hours nurse consultation and can advise you on whether to go to the ER, urgent care or wait until your doctor’s office opens. Look on the back of your health insurance identification card for the 24 hour nurse line. In case of emergency, call 911.
Urgent Care
At Central Valley Medical Group, we understand it’s difficult to decide when to go to the ER and when to go to your local urgent care facility.
When should I visit the Urgent Care Clinic?
- Injury or illness that requires immediate care but is not serious enough to require a visit to the emergency room.
- Waiting times can be shorter than those in the ER.
If you can’t get a same day appointment with your Primary Care Physician and you have a persistent illness or injury that doesn’t require a trip to the ER, but you need a symptom resolution, visit your urgent care center.
